Privacy policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

Canvass Desk is a canvassing tool for estate agencies, operated by MyPropInsight. This policy explains what personal information the service handles and how. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who can use Canvass Desk

Access is by invitation only. An agency administrator must add you before you can sign in. Google accounts that have not been added are refused and their sign-in record is deleted straight away.

Information about users

  • When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
  • Your agency may record your phone number, office and role.
  • We log your sign-ins and the canvassing activity you record (for example calls made, outcomes and notes) so your agency can manage its work.

Information about property owners

Agencies upload property records from their licensed data sources (such as Lightstone or Seeff exports). These can include owner names, contact details and sale history. Each agency is responsible for having a lawful basis to use that data. Canvass Desk honours "do not contact" flags. Owner identity numbers are not stored in readable form.

How information is used

  • To sign you in and show you only your own agency's data.
  • To let agents and managers plan and record canvassing.
  • To keep an audit trail of changes for security.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.

Sharing and storage

Each agency's data is kept separate and is visible only to that agency's users. Data is stored on servers we manage. We share information only when the law requires it.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its use. Property owners who do not want to be contacted can ask to be marked "do not contact". Email eddy@mypropinsight.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
